The Catholic church in the village of Mogan is called Saint Anthony's and is named after Saint Anthony of Padua.
(San Antonio El Chico).
The feast day of Saint Anthony is celebrated on 13th June every year and forms a fundamental part of celebrations that last for two weeks.
Building was commenced at the end of the 18th century using an endowment left for the purpose by Mattias Sarmiento who also left an additional sum for a memorial service to be said for his soul each year and it was he who chose Saint Anthony to be the patron.
A major refurbishment was undertaken in 2014-15 in time to celebrate its 200th anniversary.
The original chapel was completed early in the 19th Century and has been central to local life ever since.
